Questions

Short answers. If yours isn’t here, write to us.

One book or several?
One at a time, written in order. When it is full, start the next volume; the closing page carries your open questions into it.
Can I write in it on Shabbos?
No. That is what the motzei Shabbos and Yom Tov pages are for: you write it up afterwards.
Does it need genizah?
It contains divrei Torah and may require genizah. Ask your rav.
What if I miss a Rosh Chodesh review?
Review at the next one. Nothing is lost; the open questions wait.
Paper, or an app?
Paper. It works without a phone or a screen, and it is a bound book, which is exactly what the Chazon Ish advised (see The Tradition).
Which language?
Choose the edition you read most easily, and write in whatever language you learn in.
Is it for women too?
Yes. Seminary teachers and learners use the same book; the title page is written for anyone.
How many pages?
192, numbered in Hebrew letters and in numerals, A5. See Inside the Pinkas for every section.
Can I write on the cover?
Yes: the subject and volume labels on the cover and spine are for writing. The cover has a matte finish, so use a fine permanent marker (it dries in seconds); a ballpoint may skip and gel ink can smear.
Can our yeshiva have its name on the cover?
Yes. Write to us about class sets and named editions.
Where do I buy one?
Ask your seforim store, order online, or write to us: see Where to get one.
